IVOR BEAR failed to win a bumper last season but showed plenty on all 3 outings and there's a strong feeling that jumping could well be the making of him given his physique. He's narrowly preferred to Hold The Throw, who came from a less-than-ideal position to land a steadily-run bumper at Perth in May. Sir Edward Lear showed only a little promise on his hurdling debut at Huntingdon last November but should be capable of better.

Race Hints
Specific Pace Hint: Shabu Shabu could be expected to race prominently. Of those in the front half of the betting forecast, Hold The Throw might be well positioned in a slowly run affair: Of the better-fancied horses, Sir Edward Lear is most likely to be ridden furthest from the pace.
